Kemp Mill Urban Park (near the shopping center) open today

The Kemp Mill Urban Park opened today, a few days before its May 30 scheduled opening, in time for the Jewish Holiday of Shavuot. Many people enjoyed a few sunny hours there this afternoon. Tomorrow promises some sun, and there will be times between thunderstorms over the Memorial Day Weekend to enjoy it. Seating is far more plentiful than in the old park, and tables and chairs will be added soon near the Lamberton side of the park. Please notice and observe the age-restriction signs posted near playground equipment.

Any feedback about the park is welcome at urbanpark@kempmillcivic.org. The KMCA Urban Park Committee is open to new members, and is continuing to work and meet with officials in the Parks Department and other County offices about park safety and other features.

Enjoy!
